Frequently Asked Questions

This is because the material replacing the TUBE in a TUBELESS tire, known as the INNER LINER, is made from a special material with finer pores and is directly integrated with the other components of the tire, enhancing its ability to retain air pressure.

  • Non-standard air pressure and continuous use.
  • Carrying excessive load.
  • Uneven, damaged, and wavy road surfaces.
  • Braking methods and styles that are not always stable.

In general, it is not recommended to replace the standard tire size with a smaller or larger one, as each motorcycle design by the manufacturer has been carefully calculated and tested to achieve the best performance and safety. If you want to change to a larger or smaller tire size, it is advisable to only go one step, for example, from 80/90 to 90/90. Beyond that, rim/wheel adjustments and vehicle settings must be made to maintain safety.

es, there are signs, which occur when the tread wear has reached the TWI (Tread Wear Indicator). TWI is marked with a symbol/indicator, usually in the form of a triangle on the sidewall of the tire, and there will be bulges in the groove pattern. When the bulge appears, the tire should be replaced. There are usually 4-6 TWI symbols on both the left and right sidewalls of the tire.

Yes, it is possible, but if the tire has more than one patch and they are close to each other, it is recommended to replace it with a new tire due to the high potential for leaks and tire damage. One of the most likely damages that can occur due to multiple patches close to each other is the separation of tire components.

In general, Front Tire: 29 psi, Rear Tire: 33 psi. This pressure can be adjusted by 1-2 psi depending on the rider’s comfort and the load being carried.

  • The rim line on the tire’s sidewall is not aligned with the rim/wheel.
  • The air pressure is not standard.
  • The condition of the shock absorber is no longer standard.
  • The condition of the wheel is uneven.
  • The condition of the bearings on the motorcycle is worn out.
  • The tire wear is uneven.

Several advantages of using Nitrogen compared to regular air:

  • Tire pressure is more stable compared to regular air, because the air temperature is also more stable, and its molecules are larger and denser. This also positively impacts vehicle handling, making it safer and more comfortable, as well as helping the tire last longer.
  • Nitrogen air is cleaner as it contains less moisture, making it safer from corrosion/rust.
  • Engine performance is lighter because the larger yet lighter air molecules can create a more perfect tire shape.

Yes, but it is not recommended, and it must use an inner tube.

Yes, but it will cause several drawbacks, including:

  • The TUBELESS tire will no longer function as an air pressure holder.
  • It adds unnecessary purchase costs.
  • It increases the engine load beyond the intended level.
  • For TUBE TYPE tires, the sidewall usually has the words ‘TUBE TYPE’ (some tires with inch sizes and some matrix tires may not have this indication), and the inner surface of the tire clearly shows the arrangement of the tire ply/fabric.
  • For TUBELESS tires, the sidewall has the word ‘TUBELESS,’ and the inner surface tends to be smooth with no visible tire threads because it has an inner liner layer (which replaces the function of an inner tube).

Yes, there are signs, which occur when the tread wear has reached the TWI (Tread Wear Indicator). TWI is marked with a symbol/indicator, usually in the form of a triangle on the sidewall of the tire, and there will be bulges in the groove pattern. When the bulge appears, the tire should be replaced. There are typically 4-6 TWI symbols on both the left and right sidewalls of the tire.

It is highly not recommended due to several considerations, including:

  • The tire’s contact area with the road surface is very small, which leads to ineffective braking and water drainage.
  • The compound type is specifically designed for racing.
  • The tire profile is designed specifically for straight tracks, making it less safe for daily use, which involves a lot of turns and maneuvers.
  • For BIAS tires, the code is ‘-‘, for example: 110/70-17, while for RADIAL tires, the code is ‘R’, for example: 110/70 R17.
  • For BIAS tires, the ply layers are crossed, whereas for RADIAL tires, the ply layers are stacked (0 degrees).
  • The advantage of RADIAL tires is that they are more stable when used continuously and are suitable for high-speed riding, due to better load and heat distribution.
  • The advantage of BIAS tires is that they can carry heavier loads.
  • RADIAL tires are generally used for sport motorcycles and are not recommended for scooters or underbone motorcycles.

Each tire has a Load Index and Speed Symbol, for example, 90/90-14 43P. The number 43 means the tire can support a load of 155kg, and the letter P means the tire can handle speeds up to 150 km/h. For other standard Load Index and Speed Symbols, you can search online, as they refer to tire design standard books.
