Global Expansion
IRC began its international expansion by establishing a joint venture in Sri Lanka, manufacturing plants in Japan and Korea, and opening a marketing office in the United States. From Asia to America, IRC is present in supporting the wheels of the world in motion.
1970-1980
A Global Motocross Leader
During this era, IRC became a pioneer in motocross tires, collaborating with legendary riders such as Rick Johnson. At the same time, IRC’s research team began developing tubeless tires for mountain bikes (MTB)—a milestone of innovation that continues to this day.
1988
IRC Comes to Indonesia
IRC officially established its presence in Indonesia, becoming part of the nation’s mobility journey. Through PT Gajah Tunggal IRC Indonesia, we deliver durable, reliable motorcycle tires designed to meet the needs of Indonesian riders.
1996
Making History on the World Stage
The launch of the tubeless MTB tires “Mythos” and “Kujo” propelled IRC onto the international stage, with the products even being used at the Olympic Games—a symbol of world-class achievement and innovation.
2000-2010
Strengthening Global R&D and Production
IRC established a research and development (R&D) center in Japan, opened a manufacturing plant in Vietnam, and expanded its global network into China and North America to strengthen production capacity and tire technology research.
2017-2018
Reinforcing Our Global Position
With a regional office in Singapore (IRCA) and the Kamino R&D Center in Japan, IRC reinforced its vision as a global tire innovation leader. The year 2018 also marked IRC’s relaunch in the United States, strengthening its position in the motocross, scooter, and inner tube segments.
