The Shell Eco-Marathon is a global energy efficiency engineering program that inspires future scientists and engineers. The event, held at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit from July 2 to 6, 2024, brought together teams from 12 countries, including Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and South Korea. With two main categories, Prototype and Urban, each having internal combustion engine, battery electric, and hydrogen divisions, the competition tested students’ skills in designing and building ultra-efficient energy vehicles.
This year, our team competed with NIRANKARA 2.0, an upgraded version of our previous vehicle, in the Prototype Internal Combustion Engine category. NIRANKARA 2.0 delivered outstanding performance, achieving an impressive 983.3 km/L efficiency rating. This achievement led us to secure 1st place, surpassing competitors from countries such as Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, India, and Saudi Arabia.
Our success in the Shell Eco-Marathon Asia Pacific and Middle East 2024 is a testament to the hard work, innovation, and dedication of the entire team. It also highlights the potential of sustainable engineering and the drive to create vehicles with minimal environmental impact. We are incredibly proud of our achievement and look forward to continuing our journey in this prestigious competition.
