The Universitas Indonesia Supermileage Vehicle (UI SMV) team, established in 2009, once again proved its excellence on the international stage. At the Shell Eco-Marathon Asia 2024, held at the Mandalika Circuit from July 2-7, UI SMV made an impressive mark with their two flagship cars, Nakoela and Arjuna.
In the competition, Arjuna, the pride of UI SMV in the electric vehicle category, secured third place in the Urban Electric Vehicle (EV) category with an extraordinary achievement of 128 km/kWh. Arjuna also claimed second place in the Regional Championship, a remarkable feat that showcases the team’s innovation and skill. Meanwhile, Nakoela, the internal combustion engine vehicle, finished in fourth place, demonstrating the team’s fighting spirit and determination.
This success is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the entire UI SMV team, consisting of talented students such as Yusuf Timothy Turnip, Zahran Mizuya Kusmana, Daffa Farhan Ahmad, Zharfan Rosyad, Mohammad Iqbal Risya, Ahmad Fatih Faruqi, Rafael Sinema Hia, Jericho Christian Marsangap Pohan, Arafa Maulana Abdillah, Abdullah Iman Ramadhan, Irvian Zakky Marta, Naufal Azmi, Timothy Jonathan Sirait, Fransiskus Xaverius Godwin Siringoringo, Haydar Mahdi Khalifa Fill Ardh, Haidar Satrio Wibowo, Marsya Renatha Bahasoean, Haikal Muhammad Prabaswara, Fadhal Pandya Faiz, Fathia Ainina Jasmine, and Taqiyya Najla Syarif. Their spirit of collaboration and innovation helped them deliver exceptional performance at the event.
The success of UI SMV was also driven by their skilled drivers. Godwin, a Mechanical Engineering student from the 2022 batch, expertly drove Nakoela, while Zahran, an Electrical Engineering student from the 2020 batch, skillfully handled Arjuna with great poise. Their bravery and expertise on the track were crucial in securing these outstanding results.
With this remarkable achievement, UI SMV is not resting on its laurels. The team is determined to aim for victory at the Kontes Mobil Hemat Energi 2024 and the Shell Eco-Marathon Asia 2025 in Doha, Qatar. With meticulous preparation and ongoing innovation, UI SMV is ready to tackle new challenges and reach even greater heights in the international arena.
