At the Yamaha Endurance Festival 2023 held at the Mandalika Circuit in Lombok (21-22/10), three media teams participated. Interestingly, they used the IRC MBR 110 Speed Winner tires.
The IRC MBR 110 tires were mounted on the Yamaha All New R15 Connected Junior Pro spec. Although the IRC MBR 110 is a daily-use tire, its soft compound coating allowed it to perform at its maximum potential on the Mandalika circuit.
What’s even more interesting is that the team of Fariz Ibrahim and Ainto Harry Budiawan managed to secure second place overall in the R15 class, which was combined with the R15 Community category.
The race at the Yamaha Endurance Festival lasted for 2 hours. Despite this, the IRC MBR 110 tires remained reliable, completing 49 laps around the Mandalika circuit without issue.
“After racing for 2 hours, the IRC MBR 110 was great, no problems at all, it’s solid,” said Fariz Ibrahim.
Besides the pair of Fariz Ibrahim and Ainto Harry, other media teams also used the IRC MBR 110. This included the team of Bangkit Jaya Putra and Brian Priambudi, Panji Nugraha and Thio Rizky Yudho Pahlevi, and Alza Andra and Reza Agus Surya Putra.
A Favorite Among Sunmori Enthusiasts
No wonder the IRC MBR 110 Speed Winner is quite popular among sunmori enthusiasts. They’ve even requested IRC to develop the MBR 110 Speed Winner in more sizes.
“This is interesting, I noticed the lap times were also quite good. This tire is for daily use, but it’s soft compound,” said Dodiyanto, Senior Brand Executive & Product Development at PT. Gajah Tunggal Tbk, the manufacturer of IRC, GT Radial, Giti, Zeneos, and others, commenting on the media teams’ performance at YEF 2023.
“We were also surprised by the great market response, especially from sunmori enthusiasts. They said it doesn’t burn a hole in the wallet and asked us to develop more sizes. With the current price being very affordable and the quality being good enough for cornering. The Japanese folks at IRC joke that MBR stands for More Boy Race,” Dodiyanto explained. Well, they’re not wrong, it proved to be reliable on the track.
